Youth Players Make Reserve Team Debut

Four of our U16 girls team made their women's reserve team debut towards the end of the 2022/23 season, and here is what they had to say:

Nicol

“Playing with Hashtag Women’s reserve team was such a great experience, I enjoyed it

very much, the girls and coaches were very nice and made us feel welcome.

The Football experience with the reserve team was faster than we normally play, as

when you receive the ball and pass it, it’s much quicker, the girls always made sure

there were a lot of options when passing the ball.

I can’t wait to do it again “

Evie

“ It was a big surprise and honour to be called up to the reserves. I was nervous, but Ian,

Jack and the whole team were so kind and made me feel welcome.

I enjoyed every minute of my debut and am very proud to be the first girl from the U16s

to be called up. I will never forget the experience and thank everybody for the

opportunity, I cannot wait to play for them again”

Keira

“Playing my reserves debut was a big step up from what I am used to, but I enjoyed

every second !

The girls and coaches were so welcoming, and we didn’t feel out of place at all.

I fell honoured to be one of the first to move up to the reserves from the youth section

and I can’t wait to play again soon – It was an experience I will never forget”

Selina

“ I thoroughly enjoyed the away game with he reserves. It was a great experience, it

allowed me to get a feel for the increased pace of play. I’m very grateful to have been

chosen to take part”

The youth committee would like to congratulate them all, as we are aware of the hard work and commitment they have  put in. We extend our congratulations to the coaching staff of the U16 team, who have been a key part of the girls development.
